LEAKBASE has been seized and arrests made as part of a global action coordinated by Europol, according to Europol. The operation targeted a major online forum for stolen data, specialising in leaked databases and “stealer logs” used to harvest credentials. Between 3 and 4 March, enforcement actions across multiple jurisdictions disrupted the forum’s operations, with around 100 actions worldwide and 37 of the most active users targeted.
On 3 March, authorities carried out coordinated enforcement actions including arrests, house searches and “knock-and-talk” interventions. By 4 March, the forum’s domain was seized and replaced with a law enforcement splash page as part of a technical disruption phase, with the operation moving into a prevention phase to deter further criminal activity.
