ON 4 February 2026, Databreaches[.]Net reported that a former Nuance Communications employee, Max Vance, is facing additional charges in the 2023 Geisinger Health System data breach case. The superseding indictment in the U.S. Middle District Court accuses him of intentionally accessing without authorisation and obtaining information on more than 1.3 million Geisinger patients, two counts of false statement having been added to the existing charge of obtaining information from a protected computer.
Vance, a California man from El Cajon and a former Philadelphia-area resident, allegedly told FBI agents in January 2024 that he had not downloaded or placed on personal devices any unauthorized data. The case notes that the breach occurred just two days after Nuance had terminated his employment for unrelated reasons. Read more at PennLive, according to PennLive.
