Update Chrome now: Google fixes 13 security issues affecting billions
Google has released an update for its Chrome browser that fixes 13 security issues, four of which are high severity, including one in the Digital Credentials feature that could enable a remote attacker to exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. Chrome remains the world’s most popular browser, with an estimated 3.4 billion users, meaning many could be exposed until they update.
The technical detail tracked this time is CVE-2025-13633, described as a use-after-free vulnerability in Digital Credentials prior to 143.0.7499.41, with potential impact if a renderer process is compromised. The latest safe version numbers are 143.0.7499.40/.41 for Windows and macOS and 143.0.7499.40 for Linux, and users are urged to update so they are protected from these vulnerabilities. The update process is easiest when Chrome is allowed to update automatically, and users are advised to restart the browser to complete the patch.
