AI 'Jadepuffer' launches first autonomous ransomware

SECURITY researchers have found the first instance of an artificial intelligence (AI) executing a cyber attack autonomously. This AI-driven attack involved a ransomware scheme where the AI, named Jadepuffer, infiltrated a vulnerable server, extracted passwords and login credentials, and encrypted a production database, demanding a ransom in Bitcoin. This incident highlights the growing concerns regarding AI's role in amplifying cybercrime.
