PSEA data breach settlement offers up to $5,000 compensation

ACCORDING to RG/2 Claims Administration LLC, a court-approved settlement has been reached in Melanie Hudson, et al. v. Pennsylvania State Education Association, Case No. 2025-CV-02411, arising from unauthorized access to the Pennsylvania State Education Association’s systems and certain files containing Private Information on or around 6 July 2024 and announced on 18 March 2025.

The Settlement Class comprises all natural persons in the United States whose Private Information was potentially compromised, with those who received a notification around 18 March 2025 included. Settlement benefits include reimbursement of up to $5,000 for documented unreimbursed losses, an Alternative Cash Payment of $50 subject to proration, and two years of credit monitoring plus recovery assistance.

Claim forms must be filed online or by postmarked 6 July 2026, and those who wish to opt out must do so by the same date; objections may also be filed by 6 July 2026. The Court will hold a Final Approval Hearing on 27 July 2026 at 9:30 a.m. ET before the Hon. Judge Andrew H. Dowling.
