NZ: High Court grants injunction over ManageMyHealth cyber breach

A New Zealand health-related entity has secured a High Court injunction prohibiting the sharing of data stolen from Manage My Health, the patient portal used for prescriptions, records, and telehealth services. The injunction aims to stop third parties from accessing data posted as a result of the incident, though the scope of the order remains unclear.

Affected patients are to be notified directly, with Manage My Health expected to confirm the notification timeline by Tuesday. _1News_ reports that MMH believes between 6% and 7% of the roughly 1.8 million registered users may have been impacted, equating to about 108,000 to 126,000 users. DataBreaches notes that MMH reportedly applied for the injunction, and that MMH has said they were granted it, though a copy of the court order was not published on MMH’s site.

The article also references a threat actor known as “Kazu,” who claims not to have been served with the injunction, despite a visible presence on Telegram.
