ACCORDING to INTERPOL, Operation Ramz was a multinational effort across the Middle East and North Africa that led to 201 arrests and the identification of 382 additional suspects. The first-of-its-kind operation, conducted by 13 countries between October 2025 and 28 February 2026, aimed to disrupt malicious cybercrime infrastructure and prevent future losses. The crackdown targeted phishing, malware and cyber scams, resulting in 3,867 identified victims and the seizure of 53 servers.
Authorities also shared nearly 8,000 intelligence records between the participating nations, marking it as the region’s largest coordinated cybercrime operation led by INTERPOL. Neal Jetton, INTERPOL’s Director of Cybercrime, emphasised that global collaboration is essential to take down malicious infrastructure and bring perpetrators to justice.
