Chrome 141 Stable Channel Update Patches High-Severity Vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-11205 & CVE-2025-11206)
The Chrome 141 Stable Channel update has been released for Windows, Mac and Linux, bringing version 141.0.7390.54 for Linux and 141.0.7390.54/55 for Windows and Mac, and delivering 21 security fixes, including patches for two high-severity vulnerabilities that could lead to memory corruption and potential code execution. The most significant flaw, CVE-2025-11205, is a heap buffer overflow in WebGPU reported by Atte Kettunen of OUSPG, with a $25,000 reward awarded for the discovery.
Another critical fix, CVE-2025-11206, addresses a heap buffer overflow in the Video component reported by security researcher Elias Hohl, which earned a $4,000 reward. Both issues, if exploited, could allow memory manipulation during operation, potentially enabling arbitrary code execution or browser crashes. In addition to the two high-severity flaws, the update resolves several medium- and low-severity vulnerabilities across Storage, Media, Omnibox and Tab components, among others. Users on Windows, Mac and Linux are strongly encouraged to update to Chrome 141 immediately to protect against potential exploitation.
