Apple and Google Are Partnering to Bring Gemini AI to Siri

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple and Google are set to finalise an agreement this week that will bring Google’s Gemini AI into Siri, upgrading Apple’s voice assistant with more advanced capabilities. Under the arrangement, Apple will evaluate and test Google’s AI models for integration.

Since June 2024, Apple has been exploring a potential partnership with Google to integrate Gemini AI, with previous statements noting that Gemini could be an optional alternative in the future alongside Apple Intelligence’s integration with ChatGPT. The reports also suggest Siri could be powered jointly by Apple Intelligence and Google Gemini AI to offer more intelligent responses and the ability to perform complex tasks beyond its current limits.

Gurman’s report further mentions work on an AI-powered search product called World Knowledge Answers, designed to support web search and expected to launch next year, with speculation that Gemini might be integrated into that tool, though this remains conjecture at present.
