Veeam to Acquire Data Security Firm Securiti AI for $1.7 Billion

Veeam Software has announced plans to acquire data security posture management specialist Securiti AI for 1.725 billion dollars in cash and stock, in a move to unite data resilience with DSPM, privacy, governance and AI trust across production and secondary data. Veeam provides backup, disaster recovery and data management for virtual, physical and cloud environments, and says it serves more than 550,000 customers worldwide.

Securiti AI offers data security and governance solutions to help organisations comply with global privacy regulations and manage risks across multi-cloud and decentralised data environments. The deal is expected to see Rehan Jalil, founder and CEO of Securiti AI, join Veeam as President of Security and AI after closing, likely in the fourth quarter.

Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, said the partnership marks a new era for data governance and security, enabling customers to understand, secure, recover and rollback their data to power AI transparently, according to SecurityWeek.
