Asahi halts ordering, shipping, and customer service after cyberattack

Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd., Japan’s largest brewing company, suspended ordering, shipping, and customer service after a cyberattack, with operations at its Japanese branch specifically halted while other branches were not affected.

According to Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd., the notice states that there has been no confirmed leakage of personal information or customer data to external parties, though the system failure has disrupted order and shipment operations and left the call centre and customer service desks unavailable. The company said the investigation is ongoing and there is no estimated timeline for recovery, and no ransomware gangs have publicly claimed the attack at this time.

The notice notes that the disruptions affect group companies in Japan, and the company has not disclosed a data breach. The article, published on 30 September 2025, reports that the attack is under investigation and that other branches remain unaffected.
