A Romanian hacker, Catalin Dragomir, was sentenced to 56 months in prison for his involvement in cyberattacks targeting U.S. government networks, specifically an Oregon state government office. He gained unauthorized access to the network in June 2021 and sold access credentials on the dark web. The investigation was a joint effort involving the FBI and Romanian authorities, resulting in his extradition to the U.S. in early 2025.
