USA Fencing deploys AI verification to speed up member onboarding

USA Fencing has implemented an automated identity verification system to improve the efficiency of its membership process, which involves over 50,000 members of varying ages. The organization partnered with Jumio, a tech vendor specializing in AI-powered identity verification, to streamline age and nationality checks, significantly reducing manual review times. The new system allows members to upload their documents digitally, which are then analyzed for authenticity and risk levels.

This automation not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures the integrity and fairness of competitions by verifying that athletes are correctly categorized. Despite initial community concerns about data security, the organization emphasizes stringent data protection measures, achieving high success rates in automated verifications.
