CrowdStrike to Acquire Browser Security Firm Seraphic for $420 Million
CrowdStrike has announced plans to acquire browser security startup Seraphic Security for roughly $420 million, with the deal expected to close in the first quarter of CrowdStrike’s fiscal year 2027 and funded mainly in cash, though a portion will be paid in stock subject to vesting. Seraphic’s technology promises protection from zero-day browser exploits, phishing, and other browser-based attacks without the need for separate secure browsers or rerouting traffic.
The move follows CrowdStrike’s earlier agreement to acquire identity security startup SGNL for $740 million, announced less than a week earlier. According to CrowdStrike, the acquisition will allow it to extend zero-trust protections to the browser and fuse Seraphic’s continuous in-session browser protection with SGNL’s continuous identity to secure every interaction from the endpoint to the browser to the cloud.
George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike, described Seraphic as enabling a secure, enterprise-friendly browser experience by decoupling security from the browser. The article, dated 13 January 2026, notes that Seraphic’s browser-native protection will be integrated with the Falcon platform and SGNL’s technology to deliver a unified next-gen identity security strategy.
