Beyond Compliance: Broadcom’s New Private Cloud Tools Secure AI Workloads
Broadcom is expanding private cloud security with privatized AI services inside VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 and the integration of Advanced Cyber Compliance services, boosting security resilience and regulatory compliance for modern private clouds, including enhancements to VMware vDefend and the VMware Avi Load Balancer.
The new VCF Advanced Cyber Compliance service provides automated compliance and security governance across continuous monitoring, automated security and data recovery, and platform security and incident response, powered in part by SaltStack automation and real-time monitoring, with features such as one‑click VM network isolation and ransomware recovery, plus built‑in scanning for file-based and fileless malware.
Within VMware vDefend, Broadcom is extending Zero Trust to AI workloads with AI Lateral Security Protection (Tech Preview), Automated Zero Trust Deployment, expanded threat detection using NDR sensors, and Fileless Malware Defense through Windows AMSI. The Avi Load Balancer gains Post-Quantum Cryptography, mutual TLS, WAF security assessment reports, and MCP Traffic Security (Tech Preview) to counter emerging AI‑driven attack vectors.
Citing research, 65% of large-scale enterprise attacks involve data encryption, 30% exfiltration, and 71% of multinational firms struggle with cross-border compliance, underscoring why these measures aim to secure and regulate AI‑driven private clouds, according to Broadcom.
