Grokipedia Launches: Elon Musk’s xAI Debuts AI Encyclopedia to Rival Wikipedia

According to Daily CyberSecurity, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI has unveiled Grokipedia, a new AI-powered encyclopedia built on its Grok AI model and positioned as a direct competitor to Wikipedia. Unlike Wikipedia, Grokipedia’s content is generated entirely by artificial intelligence, with its foundation in AI-driven knowledge synthesis.

Musk has previously criticised Wikipedia for editorial bias, arguing that human authorship and moderation introduce subjectivity, whereas Grokipedia is framed as offering a more impartial alternative. The platform currently hosts approximately 880,000 entries and is English-only for now, with plans to expand to additional languages once content accuracy and verification are refined.

With its AI-generated entries and transparent references linking back to original materials, Grokipedia aims to deliver a scalable, broad, and comprehensive encyclopedia experience as xAI scales its offerings. The article notes the potential for further growth if the model adopts content-generation at larger scales in the future. October 28, 2025.
