Qualcomm’s AI Revolution: The Future of the “AI as the UI” and 6G Connectivity
At the Snapdragon Summit 2025 in Hawaii, Cristiano Amon declared that AI will emerge as the next-generation “user interface,” with Agentic AI poised to become the dominant form of application. According to Qualcomm’s vision, future computing platforms will place an even stronger emphasis on agent-driven AI capabilities, with 6G commercial-ready products slated to debut in 2028 to support these AI-driven experiences.
The event, which marked the 10th Snapdragon Summit, has historically been held in Maui aside from its inaugural edition in New York, where Qualcomm has unveiled innovations spanning the shift from 4G to 5G. Qualcomm also noted that perceptual computing was introduced in 2022 and AI-driven interaction in 2024, and that AI-enabled devices will work synchronously across smartwatches, AR glasses, and smartphones.
The company emphasised that Agentic AI will act on users’ behalf and that robust on-device AI and high-performance wireless connectivity are essential to realise such experiences. In addition to the 6G roadmap, Qualcomm's summit highlighted ongoing collaboration with Google, including Project Moohan, Project Aura, and the plan for Google’s forthcoming PC-class devices to adopt Snapdragon platforms.
