TikTok scam sells you access to your own fake money

A TikTok DM scam erodes trust by delivering a glossy, mobile-friendly dashboard that pretends you have a real balance after you log in with credentials from a TikTok DM. The message arrives from a brand-new account with a ready-made username and password for a crypto site you’ve never used, designed to feel urgent and personal so you tap quickly.

The flow pushes you to withdraw the balance, but the site asks for a withdrawal key belonging to the original account holder, which you don’t have and cannot obtain from support. Instead the scammers steer you toward an Internal Transfer and claim a new VIP account will give you a real path to withdraw, prompting payments to upgrade and unlock a so-called withdrawal. Victims end up paying multiple fees for moving fake numbers between fake accounts, with no actual external withdrawals ever possible.

The article, published on 15 October 2025, notes that the scam also collects personal data such as name, email and phone number, enabling further follow-up abuse.
