The affected data reportedly includes members of the FBI’s secretive hacking unit, potentially revealing the identities of personnel whose work, operations and tools are not generally public.
The disclosure highlights the sensitivity of the stolen information and its possible value to criminals or foreign intelligence services. However, the FBI has not confirmed the breach’s source or the full extent of the impact. In a statement, it said it was aware of a group claiming to have compromised FBIJobs.gov and alleging access to FBI employees’ personally identifiable information.
