Zscaler Acquires AI Security Company SPLX
Zscaler has announced the acquisition of AI security company SPLX, a deal that SecurityWeek reports will bolster its Zero Trust Exchange platform with SPLX’s AI security capabilities. SPLX, founded in 2023, specialises in securing AI chatbots, agents, models and workflows, offering AI asset discovery, risk assessment, automated red teaming and remediation, as well as runtime guardrails, threat inspection, prompt hardening and governance tools.
The acquisition aims to extend Zscaler’s ability to secure the entire AI lifecycle on one platform, though the financial terms were not disclosed. SPLX has raised $9 million in funding, including $7 million in a seed round announced in March 2025. According to SecurityWeek, Zscaler has previously pursued multiple acquisitions to expand its security portfolio, including Red Canary, Avalor and AirGap.
The news comes as nine AI security-focused deals feature in SecurityWeek’s cybersecurity M&A tracker this year, with several large firms pursuing similar capabilities to strengthen AI security offerings. Written by Eduard Kovacs for SecurityWeek, 4 November 2025.
