The Central Brain: Qualcomm Unveils Agentic AI and Dual-Elite Platforms at CES 2026
At CES 2026 Qualcomm highlighted Agentic AI and software-defined vehicles as a core shift, emphasising a central computing brain approach for future in‑vehicle systems. The company showed a dual Snapdragon Elite platform-based central domain controller—the Leapmotor D19 will debut with this architecture, marking a break from separate cockpit and autonomous driving systems toward true cross‑domain integration.
Immersive capabilities include up to eight displays, 18‑channel audio, and sensing for 13 cameras, radar and LiDAR to support more than 30 advanced driver‑assistance features, enabled by parallel processing across the Oryon CPU, Adreno GPU and Hexagon NPU.
Qualcomm also announced a strengthened collaboration with ZF on the ZF ProAI supercomputer for a scalable ADAS solution delivering Level 2 to Level 3 automated driving, alongside a next‑generation Snapdragon Cockpit platform for Toyota RAV4 and the first automotive 5G RedCap modem, the Snapdragon A10.
Leapmotor’s plan to launch the world’s first mass‑production vehicle powered by a dual Snapdragon Elite platform, plus a deeper Qualcomm–Google integration to accelerate AI experiences, underline the company’s move toward a centralised automotive “brain” for intelligent mobility.
