THE Bombay High Court granted interim relief to HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd (HDFC AMC) concerning a ransomware attack by a group called 'Morpheus', which allegedly stole over 680 GB of sensitive company and investor data. The court issued a John Doe order preventing the hackers from sharing or publishing this data, warning of potential identity theft and financial fraud. The next hearing is scheduled for June 16.
HDFC AMC emphasized the sensitivity of the data, which includes personal and financial information of millions of investors. The court also instructed government authorities to block any related online content upon notification from the company.
