Heads Up, Domain Owners: Price Hikes for Over 200 Extensions Start October 6

According to NameCheap, beginning October 6, 2025, the registration, transfer and renewal prices for approximately 231 domain extensions will increase. All of these domains fall under the registry Identity Digital, with the steepest increases affecting extensions such as .NEWS, .LIVE, .LIFE, .WORLD, .TODAY, .EMAIL, .MEDIA, .BIO, .IRISH, .BET and .NETWORK.

The article lists examples including .live, .life, .digital, .world, .today, .news, .email, .bet, .network, .agency, .bio and .media with specific top-line prices for registration/transfer and renewal/reactivate. It notes that if you own any of these domains, it may be wise to extend renewals for several years to save on future costs, and that exact before-and-after pricing can be checked on registrar sites or via customer support.

The piece also mentions that the .XYZ registry has raised its prices recently, and suggests that such adjustments are becoming more frequent, even as overall demand is described as slowing.
