GreyNoise launches free scanner to check if you’re part of a botnet

On 1 December 2025, GreyNoise Labs announced a free tool called GreyNoise IP Check, which lets users see if their IP address has been observed in malicious scanning operations, including botnets and residential proxy networks. The company says the problem has grown significantly over the past year, with many users unknowingly assisting malicious online activity.

According to GreyNoise, over the past year residential proxy networks have exploded and have been turning home internet connections into exit points for other people’s traffic. The tool is described as a free scanner for users to verify their exposure. Read more at Bleeping Computer. Related: GreyNoise IP Check.
