UKRAINIAN emergency services and hospitals have been targeted in a new espionage campaign using a malware tool dubbed AgingFly, according to CERT-UA. The activity was carried out by a group tracked as UAC-0247, which launched multiple attacks over the past two months against municipal authorities, clinical hospitals and emergency medical services. Hackers attempted to steal sensitive data and, in some cases, exploit compromised systems to mine cryptocurrency, according to CERT-UA.
The report highlights that hospitals and local government bodies were among those affected by the AgingFly operation. The disclosure comes from DataBreaches[.]Net, quoting the CERT-UA briefing on the matter. Further details are linked to The Record for additional context.
