The attack employs a Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) file disguised as an image containing a custom Go backdoor called QUICAgent. This backdoor communicates over QUIC and utilizes clever techniques to hide its operations. The campaign has been ongoing since April 2026, with no arrests yet made. Security teams are advised to monitor for suspicious VHD files and block certain executable scripts to prevent infection.
