AI and Quantum Are Forcing a Rethink of Digital Trust

CyberSIXT Evidence Panel Source marked as original reporting

ACCORDING to Dark Reading News Desk, AI is forcing organisations to rethink how trust is established and managed, with Amit Sinha explaining that enterprises already juggle machine-to-human identity ratios of 100 to 1, a figure that could rise to 1,000 to 1 as AI agents proliferate. He notes that digital certificates are shrinking in lifespan, which makes lifecycle management more complex and critical and increases the risk of outages if automation is not in place.

From deepfake phishing to autonomous agents acting on behalf of users, trust cannot be assumed any longer, and Sinha advocates cryptographic validation of content, identity and actions to ensure authenticity, provenance and tamper resistance. He describes the convergence of AI and quantum computing as a once-in-a-generation shift in security architecture, urging organisations to become “crypto-agile” and to inventory assets while preparing to transition from classical to quantum-safe cryptography.

Amit Sinha is the CEO of DigiCert, a board member with a track record in cybersecurity, and his comments frame a broader move toward rethinking digital trust in a rapidly evolving landscape. March 31, 2026.
