Cato Networks Acquires AI Security Firm Aim Security

Cato Networks has acquired Aim Security, a move described by SecurityWeek as the company’s first-ever acquisition and aimed at turbo-charging the Cato SASE Cloud Platform with AI security capabilities. Aim, founded in 2022 to aid secure deployment of generative AI, emerged from stealth in January 2024 with a $10 million seed and later raised $18 million in June 2025.

The deal will enable secure enterprise adoption of AI agents and applications, with Aim's platform covering three AI security use cases including securing public AI tools, private AI deployments and the agentic AI development lifecycle. Aim’s researchers uncovered the first reported CVE of a zero-click AI vulnerability in Microsoft 365 Copilot, dubbed EchoLeak (CVE-2025-32711). The company was founded by Matan Getz (CEO) and Adir Gruss (CTO), both graduates of Israel’s IDF Unit 8200.

Cato said customers can deploy Aim today and that its capabilities will be offered as part of the Cato SASE Cloud Platform in early 2026; the article notes Cato’s ARR has surpassed $300 million and includes a further $50 million investment from Acrew Capital, bringing total funding to $409 million. According to SecurityWeek, the article appeared on 3 September 2025.
