AIUC , a San Francisco-based company founded in 2024, has raised $40 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total investment to $55 million. The round was led by Ribbit Capital, with additional backing from First Harmonic.

The company developed AIUC-1, an evaluation and risk standard for enterprise AI agents. It assesses systems against risks including jailbreaks, hallucinations, prompt injection, anomalous behaviour and data leaks. According to AIUC, the framework tests models against roughly 5,000 adversarial scenarios and is supported by quarterly audits intended to address emerging threats. The company says AIUC-1 is already used to certify AI agents including Cursor, ElevenLabs, Fin, Harvey, KPMG, Lovable and UiPath.

AIUC plans to use the funding to expand its auditing, standards and insurance work to frontier models. Founder Rune Kvist, previously Anthropic’s first product hire, said that evidence of security and reliability had become a major obstacle for enterprises seeking to move AI agents from pilot projects through security reviews. The announcement describes certification activity and planned expansion, but does not report a specific security incident or confirmed exploitation involving the assessed systems.
