BACKSLASH Security raised $19 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total to $27 million raised, with the round led by Kompas VC and supported by Artofin Venture Capital, First Rays Capital, Maniv, and StageOne Ventures. Founded in 2022 and based in Tel Aviv, the vibecoding and AI-native application development security startup plans to use the investment to expand its R&D team and operations, deepen platform capabilities, and scale its go-to-market presence in the US and Europe.
The company describes its platform as unifying multiple security control points across the entire AI development stack, including visibility into development workflows and granular event monitoring, while enabling guardrails and enabling detection, protection, and response to malicious behaviour. Kompas VC partner Talia Rafaeli said that AI has fundamentally changed how software is built and that Backslash’s platform addresses security risks inherent to AI-driven development from day one.
