The 1000Hz Illusion: NVIDIA Unveils G-SYNC Pulsar and DLSS 4.5 at CES 2026
NVIDIA unveiled G-SYNC Pulsar at CES 2026, promising 1000Hz-class dynamic visual clarity by combining Variable Overdrive with VRR Backlight Strobing and a Rolling Scan technique. According to NVIDIA, this approach delivers up to a fourfold improvement in effective motion clarity, with a 360Hz 27-inch, 1440p monitor line-up from Acer, AOC, ASUS and MSI priced from USD 599 and available from 7 January.
NVIDIA also introduced DLSS 4.5, featuring a second-generation Super Resolution Transformer trained on larger datasets and accelerated with FP8, plus Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation exclusive to the RTX 50 series, which can raise frame rates—for example from native 60 FPS to 240 FPS—while improving frame pacing.
The updates extend to ACE, NVIDIA’s Avatar Cloud Engine, which is now demonstrated in gameplay such as Total War: PHARAOH using Retrieval-Augmented Generation and Small Language Models to form a knowledge base for in-game AI assistance. GeForce NOW received enhancements including up to 5K 120 FPS streaming and 1080p 360 FPS, with Linux and Amazon Fire TV client apps also announced.
