Descope Raises $35 Million in Seed Round Extension
Descope has announced a $35 million seed funding extension, bringing its total funding to $88 million. The round sees continued backing from existing investors including Cerca Partners, Dell Technologies Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Notable Capital, Triventures, and Unusual Ventures. Founded in 2022 in Los Altos, California, the startup previously raised a $53 million seed round in 2023 to target the customer identity and authentication market.
Descope provides a no-code / low-code external IAM platform that supports user, business customer, partner application and AI agent identity management, offering visibility and safeguards against phishing and credential stuffing. The company says its solution is used by hundreds of organisations across the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions, and it plans to reinvest the new funds in agentic identity R&D, expansion to new regions, and additional hiring across engineering, customer experience and product teams.
According to Notable Capital managing partner Oren Yunger, the rise of AI agents and MCP servers requires a security rethink with identity at its centre.
