BANK of America has announced its plan to acquire UK-based information security consultancy MDSec Consulting Limited, aiming to close the transaction in Q4 2026 pending regulatory approvals. MDSec, headquartered in England with approximately 65 cybersecurity professionals, will enhance Bank of America's presence in northern England, where it already has a cyber threat operations center.
Bank of America's CISO, Kris Fador, expressed admiration for MDSec's expertise, while MDSec's co-founder, Dominic Chell, highlighted the opportunity for innovation within the financial sector. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
