Android Getting Native Universal Clipboard: Seamless Sync Coming to Phones & Chromebooks
Google is reportedly developing a universal clipboard synchronization feature for Android devices and Chromebooks, allowing seamless clipboard sharing across devices. This comes after stricter privacy controls on clipboard access were implemented in Android 10 and further tightened in Android 13, which limits clipboard access to the default keyboard or active application and clears clipboard history after one hour. Users have turned to third-party solutions like Microsoft's SwiftKey for clipboard syncing.
The new feature is still in development, with details yet to be finalized, but it aims to enhance cross-platform functionality, similar to Apple's ecosystem.
