How many courts have had sealed and sensitive files exposed by one vendor’s error?

Two courts had sealed filings and court records exposed due to a vendor error, with researchers previously reporting that two courts were affected. According to DataBreaches[.]Net, the vendor responsible is Software Unlimited Corp (SUCO) in Tupelo, Mississippi, which provides criminal and civil case management software for prosecutors. After notifying the courts, one court’s local IT vendor told SUCO the issue was fixed, but the data remained exposed when the Samba share was moved to a new IP address.

The affected client soon saw the new IP address and instructed SUCO to take the share down, while the second entity’s larger share remained exposed until it was removed following an urgent alert. DataBreaches[.]Net notes that two clients reported exposure to SUCO, and questions remain about how many other clients may still have Samba shares exposed. This was reported on 31 October 2025.
