SPANISH authorities arrested a suspected collaborator of the pro-Russian hacktivist groups CyberArmy of Russia Reborn (CARR) and Z-Pentest. The suspect, detained in Palencia, faces charges including collaboration with terrorist organizations and computer damage. The investigation, led in cooperation with the FBI, revealed his involvement in supporting pro-Russian activities and facilitating the escape of a Ukrainian hacker.
He allegedly coordinated with members of another group, NoName057(16), to promote anti-Western narratives. Police seized computers and cryptocurrency associated with these activities, indicating a financial aspect involving the sale of stolen information. This arrest highlights the operational support network sustaining such cyber groups.
