Emergency alerts go dark after cyberattack on OnSolve CodeRED
A cyberattack on OnSolve CodeRED disrupted emergency alert services for U.S. state and local agencies, including police and fire departments. The incident, reported by the City of University Park, Texas, involved a cybercriminal group that may have accessed user data, including contact information and passwords. The City assured that its systems were not affected and advised users to change reused passwords.
Investigators found no evidence of stolen data online, but the City is transitioning to a new, more secure alert platform. The INC RANSOM group claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred in November 2025.
