Be the Viral Star: Google Photos Launches AI “Me Meme” Feature

GOOGLE Photos has unveiled a new AI feature called “Me Meme,” enabling users to fuse their own portrait with meme templates to create personalised internet artefacts. According to Google’s delineations, the aim is to provide an effortless way to explore the whimsical potential of photography, delivering humorous content tailored for sharing.

The process is described as intuitive: launch the Google Photos app, choose Create, select Me Meme, pick a template, and submit a reference portrait or any image for satire, after which the AI blends the facial attributes into the template, with an option to regenerate if unsatisfactory.

Currently restricted to a select cohort, a Google representative noted that Me Meme will be progressively rolled out to Android and iOS in the coming weeks, though it remains an “experimental” venture and may not always align perfectly with the source material. For best results, the company recommends portraits with good lighting, precise focus, and a forward-facing pose, as of 26 January 2026.
