Samsung Foundry Hits 60% 4nm Yield, Secures $100M AI Chip Order from Tsavorite

Samsung’s foundry division is reported to have lifted yields on its 4nm process to the 60–70% range and secured a new order worth more than USD 100 million from Tsavorite Scalable Intelligence for Omni Processing Unit chips. The deal centres on the production of OPU chips, a class that combines CPU, GPU and memory on a single die to curb AI data bottlenecks. The reports also note that Tsavorite previously secured pre-orders for its AI chips, with Samsung now identified as the manufacturing partner.

Beyond this deal, Samsung is said to have won orders from two Chinese mining-rig manufacturers and, in October, signed a foundry agreement with Tesla for its AI5 chips. In broader context, Samsung’s 2nm Exynos 2600 production has reportedly reached around 50% yield, with portions expected to feature in next year’s Galaxy S26 lineup, highlighting efforts to accelerate yield ramp-up on newer nodes. Industry forecasts suggest improving yields and orders could push Samsung’s foundry profits, part of a broader plan to reach positive cash flow by 2027.
