Touchscreen MacBook Pro & Foldable iPhone: Apple’s “Most Pivotal Year Yet” Revealed
Bloomberg News has outlined Apple’s ambitious 2026 product roadmap, describing it as the company’s most pivotal year yet. According to Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter, Apple is preparing a major overhaul of its MacBook Pro lineup, with high-end models powered by M6 Pro and M6 Max chips expected to debut between late 2026 and early 2027 and reportedly featuring OLED displays and touchscreen capability.
If touch technology is integrated into the M6 Pro/Max lineup, the shift would mark a fundamental strategic change for Apple, influenced by factors such as competition, macOS interface evolution, and deeper ecosystem integration with visionOS and Health+. Earlier, Apple is expected to release MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in early to mid-2026, with an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro using the standard M6 chip arriving in late 2026 without the new design.
The 2026 redesigns are described as expanding the gap in performance and pricing between high-end Pro and entry-level Pro tiers, echoing the era when only premium MacBook Pros included the Touch Bar.
