The Robotics Revolution: NVIDIA Unveils Physical AI and the Jetson T4000 at CES 2026
At CES 2026, NVIDIA shifted its emphasis from purely digital AI to “Physical AI” systems designed to interact directly with the real world. The company unveiled the Jetson T4000 module, delivering 1,200 FP4 TFLOPS of compute within a 70-watt envelope and 64 GB of memory, priced at USD 1,999 per 1,000-unit volume, and described it as the core engine for next-generation high-end autonomous machines.
For humanoid robots with greater computational demands, the Jetson Thor system has emerged as the industry’s platform of choice, with adopters including Boston Dynamics, 1X, NEURA Robotics and LG following its recent home robot announcement. NVIDIA also announced a broader ecosystem, introducing open-source foundation models on Hugging Face and the Cosmos platform, plus updated Nemotron and Clara families and the Isaac Lab-Arena framework to evaluate robotics in simulation.
The technologies are being applied across industries such as construction and mining automation, surgical robotics training, and real-time AI-driven analysis of robot-captured video, underscoring NVIDIA’s aim to embed intelligent physical agents across the real world.
