Soverli Raises $2.6 Million for Secure Smartphone OS

Soverli, an ETH Zurich spin-off based in Zurich, Switzerland, announced that it has raised $2.6 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Founderful, with additional support from the ETH Zurich Foundation, Venture Kick, and angel investors. The sovereign smartphone operating system runs alongside Android or iOS on standard mobile phones, remaining independent and isolated from those platforms, and can run multiple isolated OSes on the same device simultaneously.

This design aims to give users the experience of their preferred mobile environment while enhancing security, including continuity if the main OS is compromised. Soverli’s first application is being tested by emergency response and critical infrastructure entities, focusing on mission-critical communication. The company plans to use the funding to grow its engineering team, scale OEM partnerships, support additional device models, and improve integrations with mobile device management systems.

Soverli’s co-founder and CEO Ivan Puddu described the platform as a paradigm shift that guarantees continuity without sacrificing the modern smartphone experience.
