Dataminr to Acquire ThreatConnect for $290 Million
According to SecurityWeek, Dataminr is planning to acquire ThreatConnect for $290 million in cash and equity. Dataminr’s platform uses AI to process public data signals to detect critical events and threats across physical and cyber domains.
ThreatConnect, Arlington, Virginia-based, provides a platform to help security teams aggregate, analyse and act on cyber threat intelligence, with more than $20 million in funding and users at 250 enterprises and government organisations including Nike, Wells Fargo, Wyndham Hotels, and various US, UK and Australian agencies. The deal aims to combine Dataminr’s data signals capability with ThreatConnect’s internal data to create agentic AI-powered intelligence tailored to each customer.
The announcement quotes Dataminr’s Ted Bailey describing the plan to unite external signals with internal data to pursue real-time, client-tailored intelligence. The piece notes that seven acquisitions of threat intelligence firms have occurred in SecurityWeek’s cybersecurity M&A tracking this year.
