Microsoft named a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Access Management for the ninth consecutive year

Microsoft has been named a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Access Management for the ninth consecutive year, a recognition the company attributes to the power of its integrated identity solutions, including Microsoft Entra. According to Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Access Management, Microsoft Entra is highlighted as part of a unified secure access approach that aims to simplify IAM for organisations of all sizes.

The blog notes that Microsoft processes more than 100 trillion signals daily from its services to stay ahead of threats. It also states that password spray and brute force attacks account for more than 97% of identity-related alerts, with multifactor authentication reducing the risk of identity compromise by more than 99%.

The article claims that threat actors—nation-state groups and organised cybercrime networks—are using generative AI to automate attacks at scale, including phishing and impersonation attempts targeting MFA. Microsoft highlights Entra and its AI-enabled features, such as Security Copilot and agent-based capabilities, as part of a comprehensive identity and access management strategy.
