Zscaler Acquires SPLX to Strengthen AI-Powered Zero Trust Security
According to Zscaler, the cloud security company has acquired SPLX to enhance its AI-powered Zero Trust Security offering. The deal will integrate SPLX’s shift-left AI asset discovery, automated red teaming, and governance features to secure the AI lifecycle from development to deployment on Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange platform. The move comes as AI infrastructure investments are projected to exceed $250 billion by the end of 2025, with organisations grappling with expanding attack surfaces and shadow AI sprawl.
Jay Chaudhry, CEO, Chairman, and Founder of Zscaler, emphasised that AI’s value hinges on proper security, a point reflected in the plan to provide automated AI red teaming and remediation across development to production.
SPLX’s expertise in AI threat inspection, prompt hardening, and governance will help create a natively integrated layer of AI protection within Zscaler’s platform, offering AI asset discovery and risk assessment across models, workflows, code repositories, RAGs and MCP servers in both public and private deployments. Kristian Kamber, CEO and co-founder of SPLX, described a shared vision to secure the expanding AI attack surface as the two firms combine. The combined solution aims to move organisations from reactive to proactive protection while supporting governance compliance.
