Imper.ai Emerges From Stealth Mode With $28 Million in Funding

Imper[.]ai has emerged from stealth with $28 million in funding, led by backers including Redpoint Ventures, Battery Ventures, Maple VC, Vessy VC and Cerca Partners.

The New York-based cybersecurity startup, founded in 2024 by Israeli intelligence veterans Noam Awadish, Anatoly Blighovsky and Rom Dudkiewicz, says its platform detects impersonation risk in real time across video, voice and chat channels such as Zoom, Teams and Slack, analysing security signals from multiple network devices and digital personas at the first point of contact.

It argues that threat actors are using AI to generate deepfakes and voice clones, turning identity into a modern attack surface, and that its agentless platform uses digital fingerprints to block attacks across all communication channels. “Impersonation isn’t just a feature of modern attacks – it’s becoming the primary threat vector. imper[.]ai is building what we believe will be a foundational layer of enterprise security: real-time verification at the point where human trust is most vulnerable. This is a category-defining company in the making,” according to Battery Ventures partner Barak Schoster.
