New Tech Deployments Cyber Insurers Recommend for 2026
New Tech Deployments Cyber Insurers Recommend for 2026 analyses cyber-insurance claims data to identify which defenses actually work for policyholders, outlining six technologies insurers expect to pay off in 2026. According to Resilience's 2025 Cyber Risk Report, the top technology to deploy is role-based access controls, with fine-grained permissions and frequent auditing shaping a “significantly hardened” security posture once an breach occurs.
The report also emphasises that a security mindset and culture matter just as much as technology, a point echoed by Jud Dressler, director of the ROC at Resilience. It notes that phishing losses surged in the first half of 2025, while third-party outages declined to 13% of claims, and highlights other deployments such as patching legacy systems, meaningful MFA with physical security keys, zero-trust networking, managed detection and response, and immutable offline backups.
Finally, the piece stresses the need to start using existing tools effectively rather than simply buying new ones, with continuous audits of controls including RBAC and MFA deployed across the organisation, as published on 30 December 2025.
