Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital breach leaks data of 257000 patients

Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital has disclosed a data breach that exposed the personal information of more than 257,000 patients to hackers. The incident occurred on 31 January, or at least that is when staff became aware of the ongoing cyberattack, with a Maine notification later indicating the incident took place on 15 January 2026, according to HealthExec.

The hospital’s notification states that the potentially compromised data include names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical record numbers, account numbers, health plan beneficiary numbers, and possibly full-face photographs if taken. It remains unclear whether the 257,073 figure refers to patients alone or also includes employees, and whether the hospital will report a different total to the U.S.
