Xbox’s New ‘Play History Sync’ Feature is a Game-Changer

Microsoft has rolled out a cross-device “Play History Sync” feature for Xbox Cloud Gaming, extending it to all players after earlier trials under the updated Xbox Insiders programme. The update enables progress to move across Xbox consoles, PCs and Windows handhelds, with cloud saves and play history retrieved to resume exactly where players left off.

A new “Play History” section has been added within both the Xbox PC app and the console UI, displaying recently played cloud games and synchronising activity across devices. Cloud save integration has been expanded so that titles that support Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming can carry progress forward even if they lack a native PC version. The Xbox app gains a cloud game search filter and a Quick Resume list, simplifying locating active titles or returning to suspended sessions.

According to Microsoft’s official blog, the Large Icon still shows games being played on the active device, while Play History consolidates recent activity across all Xbox platforms.
