Apple’s New AirPods Pro 3: The Ultimate Upgrade for Sound and Health
At its autumn keynote, Apple unveiled the new AirPods Pro 3, touting enhanced active noise cancellation, real-time multilingual translation, and integrated heart-rate monitoring, with interchangeable ear tips expanded to five sizes to better fit more ears. Compared with the AirPods Pro 2, Apple claims the AirPods Pro 3 deliver twice the level of active noise cancellation, and up to four times that of the original model.
Beyond noise suppression, the standout feature is multilingual real-time translation, supporting languages such as English, Spanish and French, activated by pressing both stems and displayed as translated output on the paired iPhone. Another major innovation is heart-rate monitoring, enabling users without an Apple Watch to track heart rate via Apple Health, Apple Fitness+ or third-party apps supporting Apple’s heart-rate measurement API.
The AirPods Pro 3 are IP57-rated for water and dust resistance, offer improved battery life of 8 hours with active noise cancellation or up to 10 hours with hearing-assist features, and include built-in hearing protection. They are available for preorder now, with general sales beginning 19 September, priced at 249 USD, though local availability may vary, according to Apple.
